Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Resistance (“Resistance,” “we,” “us”), a strength-training app for planning workouts, logging your training, and — if you choose — publishing programs, sharing sessions, and taking part in the community around it. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Resistance.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Resistance. We ask for your date of birth when you create an account and refuse the account if it puts you under 13. We cannot check the second half of that rule, so where your country sets a higher age, you confirm by using the app that you meet it.
Your account
You are responsible for your account credentials and access tokens, and for all activity under your account. Keep your password and any API tokens secret. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use Resistance for any unlawful purpose or to harm others.
- Don’t attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users’ data.
- Don’t misuse the API in ways that degrade the service for others.
- Don’t collect other athletes’ content or profiles in bulk, by scraping or any other automated means.
- Anything you post where other people can see it also has to meet the content standards below.
Your own AI key and third-party services
The AI coach can use your own AI key. You are responsible for that provider account, for any fees it charges, and for complying with its terms. Resistance is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or the content they generate. The app may also link to third-party content such as exercise technique videos on YouTube; those creators are independent, are not affiliated with or endorsed by Resistance, and their content is governed by their own platform’s terms.
Who you are agreeing with
Resistance is operated by Percival Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company. “We” and “us” on this page mean that company.
Health & fitness disclaimer
Resistance is a training-log and information tool. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance. Consult a qualified physician before starting or changing any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition or injury. Strength training carries inherent risks; you assume full responsibility for your training decisions and for exercising within your own limits. Any suggestions from the AI coach are informational only and may be inaccurate.
Your content
You own the training data you create. You grant us the limited license needed to store, process, and display that data to operate the service for you. You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings.
Content you make public
Your account is private by default, and nothing you log becomes public as a side effect of logging it. Making something public is always a deliberate act on your part. Those acts include switching your profile to public, sharing a session, publishing a workout or routine to the marketplace, writing a comment or a review, reacting to something, creating a collection, club, or challenge that other people can find, and joining a challenge, whose leaderboard shows where you placed.
For anything you do make public, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, reformat, and display that content, and to show it to the people the feature is meant to reach — other athletes, and, on public pages, visitors who are not signed in. That license lets us pass the content to the companies that store and deliver it on our behalf, listed on our subprocessors page. You keep ownership the whole time. We don’t sell your content and we don’t use it in advertising.
The license lasts as long as the content is public. When you take something down — unshare a session, delete a comment or a review, delist a program, or switch your profile back to private — we stop showing it. Three things don’t come back: copies other athletes already installed into their own accounts stay theirs, we can’t reach a copy someone saved or screenshotted outside Resistance, and we may keep our own copy for a reasonable period in backups and, where something was reported or taken down, for as long as we need it to handle the report.
Publishing a program to the marketplace
Publishing a workout or a routine puts it in a public listing that anyone can browse, install, rate, and review. Installing copies the program into that athlete’s own account, where they can change it however they like — so by publishing, you give every athlete who installs your program a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use and adapt their copy for their own training. Delisting removes the listing and stops new installs; it does not reach into the accounts of people who installed it while it was up.
Publish only programs you wrote or otherwise have the right to share. Don’t republish someone else’s program, paid or free, as your own.
A listing shows your @handle, display name, and photo while your profile is public. If your profile is private, the listing stays up without them.
Content standards
These apply to everything other people can see — your public profile, shared sessions, comments, reviews, marketplace listings and their contents, collections, clubs, and challenges. Don’t post:
- Anything unlawful, or anything that encourages or helps someone break the law.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or content that targets a particular person — including in a comment or a review.
- Attacks on people for who they are: their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Sexually explicit material, or gratuitously graphic or violent content.
- Anything that sexualizes a child, or that is meant to contact, groom, or endanger one. This is the one rule where we report to the authorities as well as removing the content and closing the account.
- Content that encourages people to take health risks — self-harm, disordered eating, unsafe weight cutting, or the misuse of drugs or supplements.
- Anything presented as medical advice, or claims that a program treats, cures, or prevents a medical condition.
- Someone else’s work you don’t have the right to post — text, photos, or program content — or anyone’s private information.
- Impersonation, or anything that misrepresents who you are or who you are connected to.
- Spam, advertising, or content posted mainly to drive people somewhere else.
- Dishonest ratings and reviews: reviewing your own listing, reviews you were paid or traded for, or coordinated ratings meant to move a listing up or down.
- Malware, or anything designed to break the app or the people using it.
Reporting, moderation, and takedown
Marketplace listings, athlete profiles, comments, reviews, clubs, and challenges each have a report control in the app, and a report goes to us. For anything else — a shared session or a public collection, say — email support@rezist.ai with a link and we will treat it the same way. You can also block another athlete, which hides the two of you from each other everywhere you are signed in. A block can’t be applied on a public page shown to someone who isn’t signed in, because there is no one to check it against.
We may review content that is reported to us or that we come across ourselves, and we may remove it, delist it, or hide it straight away if it breaks these Terms or the content standards above. What happens to the account behind it is covered under Termination. We don’t monitor everything that gets posted, and acting on one thing doesn’t oblige us to act on another.
If you believe something on Resistance infringes your copyright, email support@rezist.ai with enough detail for us to find the content and to see that the right is yours. Tell us too if you think we removed something of yours by mistake.
Your handle, name, photo, and bio
A public profile shows your @handle, display name, photo, bio, the month you joined, and your follower counts, so choose them with that in mind. It also shows your training totals — sessions, volume, and your top lifts — but only if you switch those on separately. All of it has to meet the content standards above.
Handles are first-come, and they are not property. Don’t register one to resell it, to hold a name you aren’t using, or to pass yourself off as a real person, a brand, a gym, or Resistance itself. We may reclaim or change a handle, display name, photo, or bio that breaks these rules. Upload a photo only if you have the right to use it.
When you delete your account
You can delete your account from Settings in the app, or from rezist.ai/delete-account in any browser if you can’t get into the app.
Deleting your account deletes your public content along with everything else: your comments, reviews, published listings, collections, and the clubs and challenges you created all go, and so do your follows, blocks, and reactions. Ratings and member counts on other people’s pages are corrected so they no longer count you.
What stays is what other athletes already made their own. A program someone installed became a copy in their account at the moment they installed it, and that copy is theirs to keep.
Subscriptions & billing
Resistance is free to use, and there are two optional paid plans: Resistance Pro and Resistance AI. What each one includes, and what each one costs, is on the pricing page and is shown again before you confirm a purchase. Depending on where you subscribe, your payment is processed by Apple (App Store in-app purchase) or Stripe (on the web) — we never see or store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Prices may change with notice; a change never applies before your next renewal.
Cancelling: App Store subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple ID subscription settings. Plans bought on the web are cancelled by emailing support@rezist.ai. Cancelling stops future renewals — your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds
Purchases made through the App Store follow Apple’s refund process (reportaproblem.apple.com); we can’t issue those directly. For purchases made on the web, contact us within 14 days of a charge and we’ll refund it — no questions asked. After a refund, the features that plan pays for end immediately.
Our intellectual property
The Resistance app, its software, and its branding are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any right to our trademarks or code beyond using the app as intended. This section is about our own material; what you write and log stays yours, on the terms set out above.
Service “as is”
Resistance is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own backups via export where it matters to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resistance and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service.
Termination
You may stop using Resistance at any time, and delete your account by either route above. We may restrict features, or suspend or close an account, if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or put other athletes at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to put it right; for serious or repeated violations, and for anything that endangers someone, we may act straight away and explain afterwards.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
