Troubleshooting

Grouped by symptom. If the fix here doesn't work, send us the details — including what you tapped and roughly when — and we'll look at the audit trail.

My workout didn't sync

Nothing is lost: work that hasn't reached the server yet is still on your device. Open the app with a connection and leave it foregrounded for a few seconds, or pull Settings → Sync now. The sync status in the header tells you whether anything is still pending.

The watch can't see my templates

Open the iPhone app once with the watch nearby. The watch pulls templates through the phone, so a phone that hasn't been opened in a while has nothing to hand over.

The rest timer isn't making a sound

Check the silent switch, then Settings → Preferences → rest timer sound. iOS won't play the cue if the app has never been granted audio in the background, so play one sound with the app open first.

The Live Activity disappeared

iOS ends Live Activities on its own after long idle periods and after a force quit. The session itself is unaffected — reopen the app and it continues. Live Activities also need to be enabled for Resistance in iOS Settings → Resistance.

Coach says it's over budget

Coach run by us has daily and monthly ceilings so a runaway thread can't burn a month of budget — on the AI plan and on the free trial alike. When one is reached, Coach says which and gives you the exact time it resets — the daily one at midnight UTC, the monthly one on the 1st. Wait for that, or add your own API key under Settings → AI coach & memory, where there's no reply ceiling from us at all. Coach on your own key is part of Pro, and the first month is free.

Coach wrote a review of my session and I didn't ask for one

That's the background writing: a short review a couple of minutes after you finish a session, and a summary when your week turns over. Turn Summarize my workouts off under Settings → AI coach & memory and neither is written — nothing about a session is sent to a model for one. Turning Coach notifications off instead only silences the alert, and the writing carries on. What goes out while it is on is set out on the privacy page.

Coach couldn't reach the model

Coach tells you what the provider said and leaves your message in the box so you can send it again — it never answers with something else and lets you assume the model wrote it. On your own key the usual causes are a mistyped key, a model id the provider doesn't recognise, or no credit left, all under Settings → AI coach & memory. When we're running Coach there's nothing for you to fix; wait a minute and resend.

My import matched the wrong exercise

Open the exercise, and merge or rename it. Matching is by name and alias, so an unusual name in your old app can land on a near neighbour. The preview before an import is where this is cheapest to catch.

A personal record looks wrong after I edited history

Records are recomputed from the full history of that exercise on every edit, so give it a sync cycle and re-open the exercise. If it's still wrong, the underlying set is probably still wrong — check the session itself.

I can't sign in

Reset the password from the sign-in screen. If two-factor is on and you've lost the authenticator, use a backup code. If you've lost those too, contact support from the email address on the account.

I didn't get the verification email

Check spam, then request it again from Settings → Account. Corporate mail filters are the usual culprit; a personal address is a fast workaround.

How do I switch units?

Settings → Preferences → Units. It's a display setting: everything is stored canonically, so switching converts the whole app and never rewrites what you logged.
